It’s Main Street Monday, and Molly & Mackenzie want to give a big shout-out to one of our amazing Main Street supporters! The Kosciusko County Convention and Visitors Bureau! They serve as a marketing arm for visitors in Kosciusko County. They promote things like dining, shopping, attractions, and lakes. Did you know Kosciusko County is home to both the largest natural lake and deepest natural lake in Indiana? They also like to promote local visitor-friendly events, so people can get a taste of some of what the community does. They want to make sure people are aware of why Kosciusko County is a great place to live, learn, and play because “it starts with a visit.” They also like to share quality of life and place stories to help promote how amazing Kosciusko County is. Some other services they provide include trail maps, informing people about other things going on around the state, answering questions people may have even if they’re not visitors, and handing out maps. So how are they funded? They are funded through innkeeper’s tax which is a 5% tax added on to hotel stays. So essentially, visitors are paying them to be there. One additional exciting thing they are doing right now is their Engage Kosciusko Passports. These are different themed passports you can do, and once you complete it, you can win a prize! Our very own Downtown Warsaw restaurants can be found in these passports! Featured in the Sipping Trails Passport, are Anthology Whiskey Room& Ghost Spot – Kitchen & Taproom Partnership w/HopLore Brewing, and featured in the Taco Trail are La Troje and Mad Anthony’s Lake City Tap House.
